Temperament and Mediterranean passion define these dance pieces by Mauro Bigonzetti and Cayetano Soto. In "Cantata", Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti traces his own roots. The energetic dance stages the constant interplay of opposites: man and woman, sun and moon, love and violence. Emotional, passionate and direct, the choreography tells of relationships between seduction, love, conflict and jealousy. With traditional music from Italy, arranged and performed live by the group Assurd.
The award-winning Barcelona-born choreographer Cayetano Soto, who created the second and third parts of the evening, is regarded as an unmistakable voice in modern ballet. The title "Conrazóncorazón" plays with the words "heart" (corazón) and "mind" (razón), just like the dance creation with the two poles of thinking and feeling. Soto choreographs songs by Rina Ketty, Michel Le Grand and Jack Constanzo, among others. In "Sortijas" (Rings), Soto is inspired by a circular band that entangles people in intricate relationships.
