The trio consists of established musicians from the Berlin improvisation scene. Richard Scott is also active as a teacher and cultural mediator. This makes for an excellent musical line-up, which can also present improvisation concepts from many years of practical experience. With Antti Virtaranta on double bass and Mathias Müller on trombone, exciting musical interactions are created that are rare to unique in this form. MIKROFEST 1

Mikrofest Mannheim presents perspectives on contemporary improvised music over four days of events. On 15 and 16 March and 22 and 23 March, current topics such as artificial intelligence, modular synthesizers as a performance tool as well as feminist perspectives and performances on the subject will be presented at zeitraumexit and the Alte Volksbad in Mannheim. The concerts will be accompanied by an artist talk or a lecture performance that will take place immediately before or after the concert. With artists such as Maxime Mantovani (Paris), who has been working with topics such as AI and improvisation for years, and synthesizer virtuoso Richard Scott (Berlin), we have invited exciting musicians to present their work, some of whom have put together their own ensembles. The artist Emilie Škrijelj will present her perspective on feminism in performance and improvised music as a result of her residency and the Phlegma Ensemble will perform in an old bathhouse.

We have a solidarity pricing system. Instead of a fixed price, our guests pay the price of their choice for our events: €5 (ticket for all), €10 (ticket for many), €15 (ticket for some), €25 (ticket for some). We accept the Kulturpass for all events.
