The last Bavarian settlement is located on an inhospitable wandering planet. Decades ago, a few brave souls set out to continue living out their customs. The settlement now lives from tourism: daredevils who take a long journey from Earth to experience traditional, almost vanished forms of cultural expression up close on the alien planet. But all too quickly the adventure turns into a horror trip.

Chilean director Marco Layera has a regular working relationship with the Münchner Kammerspiele. The joint production "Oasis de la impunidad" was honored in 2022 as part of the "New York Times" world selection. Layera is now working with the ensemble of a European theater for the first time at the opening of the Kammerspiele season.

"Although I live on the other side of the world, the saying 'Mia san Mia' seems familiar to me and reminds me of statements I've heard from a young age in my country. It exposes itself: an identity narrative that is meant to incite us to pride and doesn't let us see who we really are."
