MESSAGES FOUND IN AN ANTHILL

In the organizer's words:

Where can we hear, feel and see language? And which forms of expression are considered legitimate in order to be heard and recognized as a thinking and acting subject?

In a culture characterized by words, linguistic codes produce access and exclusion in relation to institutional spaces, political discourses and cultural offerings. With six artistic positions, the exhibition MESSAGES FOUND IN AN ANTHILL is dedicated to the diversity of different forms of human and non-human language and their significance for the embodiment and recognition of different realities of life.

Language is discovered where it was not suspected or even denied for a long time.

For example, the participating artists address sign language; they examine the potential of words as a political tool; they engage with the languages of marine species and formulate a manifesto that radically challenges normative and discriminatory notions of what language is and what thinking is.
