Netzwerktreffen “Jazz and Children” @ jazzahead! CLUBNIGHT

In the organizer's words:

Jazz is a widely recognized part of today's concert life and an established genre in (music) school and university programs throughout Europe. At the same time, there is a lack of networking in the field of jazz education and outreach, which this initiative aims to address.

In spring 2024, a conference on music education in jazz was held at the Gustav Mahler Private University for Music in Klagenfurt, Austria. The event revealed a variety of perspectives and approaches as well as a strong desire for exchange. Subsequently, two network meetings on the topic of "Jazz and Children" have already taken place.

This third meeting will bring together people from different European countries who work in the field of jazz education, as musicians, educators, organizers or researchers. We will get to know each other and explore possibilities for joint projects or initiatives. We would also like to discuss possibilities for a future European network "Jazz and Children".

The meeting will take place in a hybrid form, as part of jazzahead! in Bremen and online, on Friday, 25.4.2025 from 15:00-17:00 (CET). Registration until 10.4.2025. Participation is free of charge.
