What a strange title for a novel - "Wild after a wild dream". It can only come from an expert in "mental dizziness". She is Julia Schoch. In her new novel, her narrator re-encounters an old amour fou who once shook up all her certainties and connections. Julia Schoch reminisces about the question that not only women writers are concerned with: Can a woman who finally comes into her own and wants to stay there still be with others? There is more than just an individual conflict in this situation. As in "Das Vorkommnis" and "Das Liebespaar des Jahrhunderts", one of the most factual of all factual romances, this book is also a social novel between the lines and yet also captivates us as a simple love story.
"Wild nach einem wilden Traum" stands alone as a novel and yet rounds off the trilogy that Julia Schoch has called "Biography of a Woman". Laconically and psychologically dense, she closes a circle here. She talks to Insa Wilke about how a woman's life can be told in a specific way, what is universally valid about it and what also affects men's lives. And which contemporary history actually forms the background for the wild dream that not only her main character longs for.
