The 4-piece psych band from Glasgow, founded by Catalan-Egyptian musician Mariam El Sadr (Maz), has taken the Scottish music scene by storm. Their intercultural and energetic live shows, oscillating between surf guitars, krautrock noise, queer dance music and Latin American influences, have captivated audiences and given the band a promising future. MATP are a force to be reckoned with.

The band emerged on the Scottish live scene in February 2022, supporting touring bands, performing tirelessly in clubs and organizing warehouse parties themselves ("Phantasmagasm"). Their dedication quickly gained them recognition in the industry and a dedicated fan base in Glasgow and Edinburgh. With only 3 single releases, the band have sold out headline shows in the UK's music capitals. Having recently returned from a well-received 16-stop UK and EU tour and a summer of festival showcases, their reputation as a must-see powerhouse live act has been cemented.

MATP have received support from local Scottish radio stations and media outlets including Scotland on a Sunday (The Scotsman), The Skinny and Snack Magazine who gave them a double page spread. Their latest single was voted "Song of the Week" by BBC Scotland. After their recent tour in Germany, the band's performance in Kusel was praised in an article in the German newspaper Die Rheinpfalz. Their music has also made waves on Italian radio Kaos, further cementing their international reach.

With an EP, an album and a series of releases planned for 2024, MATP are preparing to

establish themselves in the music scene and invite new fans into their unique and colorful world.
