Mathias Schaffhäuser's 10th solo album is called "Singing About It" and thus provides a clear template - there is singing here. And on almost every song. This has never been seen before on an album by the Cologne native, who is primarily known for his club tracks. Mathias stands alone on stage, sings and uses charmingly minimalist percussion on some tracks. The music comes from the computer, accompanied by live-generated, extraordinary visuals by Stephan Meyer. Angie Portmann (Late Nite Sounds / Bayern 2) invented the wonderful genre "Cosmic Art Pop" for Schaffhäuser's new songs, author/musician/DJ Thomas Meinecke (F.S.K.) wrote: "I'm impressed by the production and the determined crooning." And even Patrick Wagner from GEWALT, probably the most unusual current indie band in this country, sent great feedback: "I think "Singing About It" is great. My favorite is the ghostly Bowie-like "I FALL WITH YOU."

Short bio Mathias Schaffhäuser:Mathias Schaffhäuser has been on the techno, house and minimal scene since 1994, when his first house EP was released on Definitive Records - and has been known for his wide stylistic range ever since. His album "Lido Hotel" (Force Tracks Rec.) with the catchy song "Nice To Meet You" was released in 2000 and marked his first respectable success in the techno scene. The breakthrough came in 2001 with the club hit "Hey Little Girl". Successful tracks such as "Coincidance", "Musik ohne Bass" and "Detail In Grün" followed in the 2000s. Mathias also released on labels such as Third Ear, Snork Enterprises, Souvenir, Compost, Kompakt and Biotop, to name but a few. In October 2024 he released his 10th solo album "Singing About It" (GMO - The Label) with a stylistic shift towards indie/art-pop songs, carried by his voice, which has often been compared to those of David Bowie, Bryan Ferry and Scott Walker.since 2010 Schaffhäuser has also been working with Jorge Socarrás (Indoor Life, Catholic a.k.a. Patrick Cowley & Jorge Socarrás) as FANATICO X. The duo has released two albums and several EPs to date, album number three will follow in fall 2025. 2023 marked the 25th anniversary of Mathias' label WARE Records. Mathias has also created remixes for Steve Bug (Lover Boy), Luomo (Tessio), Faust, Goldfrapp, Pan-Pot, Indoor Life, Northern Lite, Dapayk & Padberg and many more.
