Whitney Bursch (she/her) is a Black art therapist and comic artist.
Her comics are about her feelings. Powerlessness and anger, sadness and crush, loneliness and warm closeness. Whitney deals with these themes in a humorous way without denying them their profundity.
During her reading, she will read out some of these comics, including her latest work "Nasty Nasty"; a manga about an impossible and cheeky tenth grader who really doesn't care about anything.
As part of the current exhibition "Black Comics - From Colonialism to Black Panther", Whitney Bursch will be visiting us and sharing her life stories with us during her reading.
