At the end of August and beginning of September, the Stadtpark becomes the place to be for wine lovers. This is when the spacious park with its rose garden forms the romantic backdrop for Mainz's largest wine festival.

You can sample wines from Mainz and Rheinhessen in particular, but also from the Rheingau and Nahe regions at the wine market.

You can taste, chat and celebrate at the sparkling wine festival in the rose garden, at the long seating arrangements throughout the grounds or sitting on the large meadows.

If you are looking for arts and crafts, the artists' market in the rose garden is the place to be.
