Maik Mondial - Balkan, Gypsy-Folk und Jazz

In the organizer's words:

"The five young premium musicians of Maik Mondial play the audience almost dizzy with their virtuoso mixture of Balkan, gypsy folk and jazz. Transit - is the name of the current program of the five-piece formation Maik Mondial and is inspired by a joint concert tour. This road trip - in an old 1978 Ford Transit - took the band to the roots of their music, to Eastern Europe. The result is a musical travel diary that tells of the impressions and wild experiences along the Danube via Austria and Hungary to Belgrade.

In spring 2017, the band won the jury and audience prize in the CREOLE national competition. The quintet crowned the subsequent national competition with the coveted tour prize and was awarded the international folk prize "Eiserner Eversteiner" in January 2018. The current album "Transit" was released in 2022 on the Cologne label Hey!blau Records.
