WEEKEND WORKSHOP

In his novel "The Museum of Innocence" (Hanser), Nobel Prize winner Orhan Pamuk explores the connection between object and narrative. Key objects from the museum of the same name in Istanbul are currently on display at the Lenbachhaus in the exhibition "The Consolation of Things" (until October 13, 2024). The exhibition shows how literature and art are genuinely combined in Pamuk's work; it is the starting point of the workshop in two ways: With a guided tour on Friday and a second individual walk on Saturday morning, supplemented by passages from the novel. With these impulses and our own objects, we will then create "visible" fictions in the Literaturhaus. Because things not only provide impulses for writing, they also promote precise and sensual storytelling, which also gives readers a world of their own.
