Madeleine Mesam: SONNENBLUMENFELD

The window exhibition is illuminated daily from 8 am to 11 pm

Flappy, fleshy leaves and heavy, hanging heads dance between melancholy and joy, painted with acrylic on cotton and linen, unstretched and hanging freely - welcome to the sunflower field.

Without beginning or end, an immersive space unfolds, a universe of painting, ceramics and other organic formations, with monstrous sunflowers at its center.

Individual sunflowers are shown in portrait form, their personalities highlighted by strong colors, abstract forms and different formats. The larger-than-life, abstract depiction invites viewers to dissolve into them and experience them. By hanging the fabrics freely, everything remains mobile and tangible.

The works do not appear rigid or closed off, but invite interaction. Shapes, colors and plants merge into dancing figures.

The space is in motion and allows the viewer to immerse themselves in the (monster) sunflower field. You are swept along, invited to pause, see, observe, listen and ultimately become part of the transformed landscape.

A dense, layered field of sunflowers forms, in which things are hinted at that lead nowhere until everything dissolves into organic formations.
