Suleman Taufiq, a writer, publicist, translator and editor of Arabic literature born in Damascus, came to Aachen to study philosophy and comparative literature. In 1978, he published his first volume of poetry in German, which was followed by numerous publications. He also became known as an author for radio stations such as WDR and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
For the vhs Aachen, he invites poets to readings and talks about their literature.
