Lucas Imbiriba is a Brazilian guitarist and songwriter known for his unique arrangements of popular songs for solo guitar.
He started playing the guitar at the age of 10 and only 5 years later won the first prize at the national Brazilian guitar competition "Souza Lima" and received a full scholarship at the major music universities in Barcelona, Spamien and Nuremberg Germany.
During his studies he was awarded more than 10 prizes at music and classical guitar competitions in Europe. He mastered the flamenco guitar and gave solo concerts and concerts with orchestra in more than 20 countries. He now knew he wanted to learn more about music.
In 2011, Lukas released his first album entitled "Lucas Cesar Expedition", which saw him tour the coasts of Portugal, Spain, France and Italy with his former rock band. Two years later, he released a second rock album entitled "Change of Plans", on which he played a variety of rock music. After this last album, he went to Brazil to get to know his musical roots better.
Back in Brazil, he began performing with various local music groups in 2013, while continuing to tour Europe and Russia, performing in large music halls and as a soloist with major philharmonic orchestras. In the meantime, a new understanding of his relationship to the guitar and to music itself was developing in his mind and soul.
In 2020, Lucas Imbiriba went viral on Youtube with his fingerstyle and acoustic versions of songs such as Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin), Desperado (Los Lobos) and Hotel California (The Eagles), reaching more than 20 million views in less than a year.
In 2021, he released a new album entitled "Epic Journey", on which he played 10 outstanding arrangements of world-famous movie themes, classic rock songs and original songs for guitar.
In 2023, after the pandemic, he was invited to present his new album in Europe and play a tour in England, Germany, Portugal, Norway (Larvik Guitar Festival) and France at the prestigious Patrimonio Guitar Festival.
In the same year Lucas was invited to be the lead guitarist of the Yusuf Cat Stevens Band and toured Germany, Italy, Spain and England. The tour ended with a performance on the Pyramid Stage at the legendary Glastonbury Festival, where he played in front of 200,000 people. The show was broadcast live by BBC London.
Lucas is currently known worldwide for his spectacular and breathtaking guitar performances, which combine the fire of the flamenco guitar, the percussive rhythms of Latin America, the lyrical melodies of classical music and the power of rock'n'roll.
