In the organizer's words:

LOST IN MUSIC: Read & Cover

Event with readings, live music and DJs

IT'S A HARDCORE NIGHT was the name of a series of events in Munich at which authors, actors and celebrities read texts from their favorite books published by the then still existing cult label Heyne Hardcore, accompanied by local musicians and bands on the fly and then danced together.
Heyne Hardcore is now history.
But now the former publishing director and initiator of the event series Markus Naegele (also known as Don Marco as a musician and DJ) is bringing together what belongs together again under the motto LOST IN MUSIC (based on the cult book by Giles Smith).

Letters, (auto)biographical texts, articles, novel excerpts from the wide world of pop music. Read aloud by authors, musicians, presenters and actors.

The performers

Maren Solty, born in 1995 in NRW Geilenkirchen, has been an actress at the Münchner Kammerspiele since the 2022 season. She studied acting at the Mozarteum Salzburg. The film Draußen Brennt's, directed by Ella Haas, in which she plays the role of Mia Rempel, was invited to the Maxophülspreis film festival in January 2024. In the play "A scheene Leich" she played together with Gerhard Polt under the direction of Ruedi Häusermann and was a guest in the Stofferls Wellnusik series at BR Heimat at the invitation of Christoph Well (Biermösl Blosn).

Axel Koch, singer, songwriter, author, born in Husum, grew up in Fürstenfeldbruck, studied Japanese Studies in Munich and Kyoto. Plays guitar and sings in the bands Der Englische Garten, Oktober Folk Club and The Royal Flares.

Jacqueline Floßmann, born in 1991 in Upper Bavaria, caused a sensation early on with her performance of Gerhard Polt's socio-critical play "Gemütlichkeit", which has received standing ovations to this day. Floßmann obtained her Master of Arts in Comparative Cultural Studies at the University of Regensburg and even then wove her musical passion into current, socially relevant contexts. Based on the foundation of popular music research, her bachelor's thesis was about the cultural significance of long hair in alternative music scenes. Since 2017, she has been working full-time as an editor at Classic Rock Magazine Germany, DJing old-fashioned pig rock on the side, struggling with her ambivalent dual role as a feminist/rock lover and walking a wobbly knife-edge as the frontwoman of her band Doll Circus. She also loves cats. Very.

Karl Bruckmaier wrote his first music review for the school newspaper Weberknecht, then for the SZ and pretty much everything that has a Z in the front or back of its name in Germany. He also wrote radio plays, books, translations and a lot of radio until he could think of nothing more. His next live reading tour starts in January under the title Der Letzte macht das Licht aus. He is now a grandpa.

Les Millionnaires consist of Fredo Ramone, vocals: 120% French, never without lipstick, discovered by Jean-Paul Gaultier's scouts on the streets of Paris with blue hair, artist, rebel and chaotic romantic. Chris Phonoboy, guitar: half-French-half-Munich, multi-instrumentalist, music producer, DJ and operator of Telstarstudio, also on the road solo as "Phonoboy". Together they are Les Millionnaires: a dynamic duo, minimalist chanson punk, loud, quiet, French, German, Bavarian, English, DIY neo-avant-garde punk without borders. They were on tour in Germany with Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian as support for The Damned and also with "Stereo Total". After Pink's Not Dead! and Never Mind The Money!, a new single will be released in October and the third album in 2025.

Philip Bradatsch is probably the most monstrous thing the German indie scene has produced in recent years. Someone with attitude, someone who takes a stand. He is by no means indifferent to current listening habits or playlists, he just doesn't want to cater to them. Instead, he presents them with cryptic, Dylanesque set pieces, creating a maelstrom of images, spaces and voices. And Philip Bradatsch comes up with surprises, his songs slowly build up, oppress, rebel furiously and dissolve into wonderful harmonies in the next moment. In the end, Philip Bradatsch is probably what nobody has dared to miss for so long: Rock'n'Roll.

Don Marco has been playing in various underground bands since the 90s. As singer, guitarist and songwriter in the indie garage band Fuck Yeah, he released two albums and played with bands such as Maximo Park, Algiers and Frightened Rabbit. He also released two albums in German, Don Marco & die kleine Freiheit, with various musicians. 2024 saw the live debut of his new band Drug Stop. Under his real name Markus Naegele, he earned his living as publishing director at Heyne Hardcore and is now head of the btb Verlag program.

King Brownie comes from Osnabrück, where he influenced a whole generation musically as a DJ in Hyde Park and supported the likes of Die Ärzte, Stray Cats, Hanoi Rocks, Bo Diddley and the Undertones. He managed Lüde & the Astros for many years and works as a record salesman.
