IT'S A HARDCORE NIGHT was the name of a series of events in Munich at which authors, actors and celebrities read texts from their favorite books published by Heyne Hardcore, which still existed at the time, accompanied by music from local musicians and bands on the fly and then danced together.
Heyne Hardcore is now history.
But now the then publishing director and initiator of the event series Markus Naegele (also known as Don Marco as a musician and DJ) is bringing together what belongs together again under the motto LOST IN MUSIC (based on the cult book by Giles Smith).

Letters, (auto)biographical texts, articles, novel excerpts from the wide world of pop music. Read aloud by authors, musicians, presenters and actors.
There will be live music on the fly, but not just any music, no, LOST IN MUSIC is also about the high art of cover versions, performed by local acts.
Afterwards, friendly DJs play their favorite records and it's time to party.

The performers

Together with Andreas Hykade,Martin Lickleder has written an animated film series that 75 percent of today's German Twens know ("TOM & das Erdbeermarmeladebrot mit Honig") and, together with Claudia Kaiser, a novel that became a mini-bestseller via Amazon-Judo without having to sue J.K. Rowling ("Im Reich der verlorenen Dinge"). He is and was also a member of the Moulinettes, Oktober Folk Club, Suzie Trio and The Sound of Money, who will finally release the follow-up to their album "More? Why Not! - An Anagrammatic Exorcism of 60s" (2017): "Two: Rhyme On - An Anagrammatic Exorcism of the 70s" (both on BB*Island). The first pre-release single "Dr. Dr. Themefart, Frustrating Himself, Posed As Gay Old Nazi SS" (an anagram of the record title "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars" by D. Bowie) will be released on March 11.

Shahrzad Osterer was born in Tehran in 1984 in the middle of the Iran-Iraq war. She decided to leave her home country at the age of 19. For 10 years, Osterer has worked for various formats of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation, including as a member of the editorial team of the BR program "Messages of Refugees", as an author for the Zündfunk magazine and for the socio-political program "Zündfunk-Generator". She had her own empowerment podcast on BR, and is currently a presenter on BR's new diversity project "Workin' Germany" and writes for several print media.

As DJ Mopedtobias,Tobias Ruhland sets up his mixing desk where other people go on vacation to play at weddings: Oederquart - Ibiza - Ratzenhofen:, If his job at BR as presenter of Zündfunk and other Bayern2 programs wasn't so much fun, he would have started writing his DJ memoirs long ago. Current working titles for the book: "Many weddings and no deaths" or "The red wine risotto was better at the rehearsal dinner!" P.S.: As a DJ retirement plan, he now regularly plays at urology clinic parties.

Leoni Schulz, born in Frankfurt am Main in 1982, grew up in Pakistan, Germany and Zimbabwe. Graduated in political science and studied acting at the Film University Potsdam Babelsberg "Konrad Wolf". Initially freelance in Berlin, engagements at the Schaubühne Berlin, Tafelhalle Nürnberg, Raum13 Köln, Landestheater Schleswig Holstein, among others. Then a permanent engagement at the Staatstheater Mainz and since 2020 an ensemble member at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Leoni appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 in a supporting role in the film "Tore tanzt". She is also regularly involved in contemporary dance productions and productions that work with puppetry.

Dominik Schauer is a guitarist, singer and choir director. Various band projects (such as Die Supersieger, The Rollercostars and Ya*Hoo) were just as formative for him as his many years of choral work in the absurdly beautiful Bud Spenzer Heart Choir - a 60-strong troupe dedicated exclusively to the Italo film music legacy of the giant Pedersoli (and of course Terence Hill). In recent years, they have released various EPs and a full-length fingerstyle program on 6 and 12-string instruments, often combined with slide guitar. Guitar music only, no vocals, everything comes from the fingers. Beautifully old-school and intimate, straight, clear - very reminiscent of Leo Kottke and Stefan Grossmann, in short: aesthetically full of the late 70s, when ragtime was allowed to write guitar history.

Leonie Singt play bittersweet, melancholy songs, performed with a lascivious, smoky timbre and transport their listeners into a musical world that moves stylistically between folk, indie and chansons. The dark voice of front woman Leonie Felle carries the listener through the German-English song worlds in a gripping and touching way. On "Lost in Music", she performs as a duo with Hagen Keller on guitar and accordion, who provides the necessary disruptive fire.

Don Marco has been playing in various underground bands since the 90s. As singer, guitarist and songwriter of the indie garage band Fuck Yeah, he released two albums and played with bands such as Maximo Park, Algiers and Frightened Rabbit. As Don Marco & die kleine Freiheit, he released two albums in German with various musicians. 2024 saw the live debut of his new band Drug Stop. Under his real name Markus Naegele, he earned his living as publishing director at Heyne Hardcore, most recently as head of the btb Verlag program.

King Brownie comes from Osnabrück, where he influenced a whole generation musically as a DJ in Hyde Park and supported the likes of Die Ärzte, Stray Cats, Hanoi Rocks, Bo Diddley and the Undertones. He managed Lüde & the Astros for many years and works as a record salesman.
