Lord of the Dance" has been thrilling audiences around the world for 30 years now. Cologne audiences have been experiencing the show at the LANXESS arena since it opened in 1998. To mark its 30th anniversary, the hit show has announced a new tour, "30 Years of Standing Ovations", for 2026. Fans can once again look forward to fascinating choreography and epic stories on this anniversary. The show will make a guest appearance in the cathedral city on 16.04.2026.

It is the most spectacular and successful touring dance show in history and in 2026 it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in style: "Lord of the Dance"!

More than 60 million people in 60 countries on all continents have been thrilled by this breathtaking, captivating and magical show. The 30th anniversary is not only a reason to celebrate, but also a unique opportunity to look back on the extraordinary journey of "Lord of the Dance". It all began with Michael Flatley's dream of putting on the biggest Irish dance show in the world. And what almost everyone thought was impossible, Michael Flatley achieved with great determination, extraordinary talent, tireless passion and a lot of hard work! His spectacular intermission performance at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 ended with a standing ovation. He even overshadowed the actual event. The rest is history!

Michael Flatley not only created the most successful dance productions of all time, he broke records worldwide and helped the art of traditional Irish dance to achieve world fame and recognition. His show and Michael Flatley himself became legends. The battle between good and evil is a unique combination of energetic dance at the highest artistic level, original Celtic music, clever yet entertaining storytelling and subtle sensuality. This unique interplay has been enchanting audiences again and again for 30 years now!

In spring 2026, the rapid and striking "Klacken" will finally echo through the halls of Germany and Austria again. For the anniversary tour, Michael Flatley has further developed the original concept of "Lord of the Dance" in a new, modern way. Described by the Los Angeles Times as a "showpiece extravaganza", the show will transport audiences to a time and place of myth and fantasy with more than 150,000 taps per performance.

Audiences can look forward to a thrilling journey accompanied by elaborate costumes, breathtaking choreography and state-of-the-art technology and lighting effects. Under the direction of Michael Flatley, 40 of the world's most talented young dancers bring a show to the stage that perfectly combines tradition, entertainment, music, fascination and dance. On 16.04.2026 "Lord of the Dance" will make a guest appearance at the LANXESS arena in Cologne.
