Pure blues! Back to the roots! Anyone who wants to experience traditional blues in its original form should not miss this concert.

Wolfgang Kalb masters the versatile genres of country blues from the 1920s onwards, with all their related styles such as gospel, ragtime, folk etc. He does not need an accompanying band to captivate his audience. He does not need an accompanying band to captivate his audience. Concentrating only on himself, he plays the blues in its purest form. He interprets the songs of the old masters (Fred McDowell, Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie Johnson, John Lee Hooker and others) in his very own, unmistakable way, changing the music and lyrics and adapting them to his personal situation.

Wolfgang Kalb digs up the roots of the blues from the 20s and 30s and makes them shine. Fingerpicking and slide on various guitars are his specialties. He has a firm grip on his resonator guitars (brass guitars) and interprets soulful ballads, old gospel songs and rolling ragtime with freshness and skill.
