Lilli Lake works multimedia and performative, often site-specific. Her works are based on field recordings, found materials and existing sounds, often in feminist contexts and narratives. For the exhibition A motif in a fugue at the Moltkerei Werkstatt, she unfolds a dynamic and constantly changing system. Inspired by the musical fugue, which was usually the preserve of male composers, acoustic and spatial-material dialogues are created in an open network. Instead of rigid order, the artist emphasizes fluid materiality and continuous change.
