Following their "Winterreise" project in 2024, Konstantin Paganetti and Toni Ming Geiger are devoting themselves this year to Schubert's second great cycle "Die schöne Müllerin". As with "Winterreise", they will explore the possibilities of ornamentation and improvisation on the historical fortepiano, as Schubert himself practised them. With the support of the German Orchestra Foundation, Paganetti and Geiger thus open up a fresh, contemporary view of the young miller's story of love and suffering. In addition to performances in Frankfurt, Koblenz and Bonn, the project will take them to schools, where they will talk to pupils about the music and texts.
The musicians also make Wilhelm Müller's texts more accessible by translating the original into plain language. This was written by Anne Leichtfuß, who already translated "Winterreise" into plain language for Un-Label and the Beethovenfest Bonn in 2024.
