Lichter der Neustadt 2024

In the organizer's words:

Our self-made gates open again! From November 27, our square on Neustadtswall will once again shine in a cozy atmosphere.

For 24 days, we will enchant the area between the Shakespeare Company and Südbad - live music, street theater, performances and one or two surprises will ensure alternative winter magic. Unadapted, unconventional, uncommercial - with a lot of love for regional artists and exhibitors.

Come along, enjoy our extensive program and treat yourself to burgers, waffles or African and Balinese delicacies. Guaranteed whatever the weather: because our yurt has a new stove and is cozy and warm again. 15,000 visitors last year can't be wrong!

This is the ninth year that the non-profit association KulturKraken has been responsible for this winter culture festival. We create a space for culture and encounters. And all this amidst lovingly decorated and elaborately constructed market stalls with local products that change daily. Together with the Irgendwo Kollektiv and the PAPP Café, the Kulturkraken turn on the lanterns and bring lights to the Neustadt.

We want everyone to feel comfortable here. So sexism, homophobia, racism and other hostilities must stay outside! But if there is something wrong, tell those with the octopus sweaters or get in touch with the eight-armed man.

The lights are free because culture is for everyone! Nevertheless, we need your support more than ever. So if you can, please donate!

Our opening hours from 27.11. - 20.12.2024:

Mondays to Fridays 4 pm to 10 pm
Saturdays 2 pm to 10 pm
Sunday 2 pm to 8 pm

• We absolutely do not tolerate racist, sexist or homophobic behavior - if you experience or observe anything like this, please contact us immediately.
• Please keep to the paths and squares on the square to protect the green spaces.
• Please dispose of your garbage and butts in the garbage cans provided and keep the site clean

Only if we all pull together and stick to the rules can we have a great event together. We look forward to seeing you!
