The accompanying program of the Leipzig Book Fair "Leipzig liest!" is a guest at the Stiftung Forum Recht!

The panel discussion will bring together two authors who look at law, power and politics from different perspectives in their latest books. The lawyer Julia Borggräfe shows how a well-functioning administration can strengthen trust in the state and democracy and presents concrete solutions. The writer Ilija Trojanow, who retells the key work of the "Bulgarian Machiavelli" Stojan Mikhailovsky in his "Book of Power", reflects on the nature of power and its dangers. The political scientist and well-known political creator on TikTok and Instagram, Nina Poppel, explains how democracy works, what influence the Basic Law has on everyday life and how political processes shape our rights. The literary scholar Jürgen Wertheimer, who has studied the figure of Cassandra in depth, analyzes the patterns of "catastrophes with announcement", the power of deliberately ignoring knowledge and poses the question of whether literature can predict wars.

Admission is free of charge. Registration is not required.
