The detailed program:
7.30 pm - Roland Spranger reads from "The Art of the Belly Landing"
Roland Spranger delves into the lives of two actors with humoristically sophisticated anger and whimsically derailing despair. Thorsten Danner, a theater actor, knows that applause doesn't pay the bills. Fed up with directing ideas from the ghost train and the chili in the theater cafeteria, he takes action in self-defense against artistic self-exploitation in a business world. Andreas Leopold Schadt, ex-Tatort detective, questions German crime thrillers and the trauma of a B-list celebrity career - from bad hairstyles to the experience of lying in the woods as a corpse. Two who end up on their stomachs and still carry on - a sharp look at theater, film, television and the most difficult art: life. Meanwhile, author Spranger discusses failure as the artistic format of our time with an AI.
7.55 pm - David Gray reads from "Embrace of the Barbarians"
In his short stories, David Gray lures the reader into the dark corners of the world and lets monstrous events follow intimate horrors of everyday life. He takes us to the Wild West to a town that won't appear on any map, tells of mythical creatures, tells of a serial killer who kills to greet death, makes a Colombian cartel killer despair, challenges the Marquis de Sade to solve a mysterious murder case over a sumptuous dinner or describes how a serene club manager dusts off old dreams one last time and experiences a surprise in the process...
20.20 - Klaus Märkert reads from "All that came true that wasn't actually true"
Only five short years have passed since the publication of the second literary opus (ses) by the two writing magicians Myk Jung and Klaus Märkert. And the third joint work of extraordinary fabulousness is already on its way. Jung and Märkert, masters of the unconventional art of storytelling, have put together a new composition of exquisite tales - eighteen in all - that frolic between black humor, obscure characters and the odd hard-hitting punchline. Chapter names such as "The Thing Has Eyes", "Lost Mummy" or "The Prevented Conversation About a Spell of Deepest Truth" hint at the wild imagination of the two gentlemen. Readers are urgently warned against diaphragmatic impairment.
20.45 - Musical reading with Dominique and Tine Täger from "Ephemer" - Volume II "Sweet Claire"
Claire and Moll are nothing less than a surreal thunderstorm of love. They are the enfants terribles of the German literature, music and art scene in Germany in the late 80s and the passionately racing 90s. Discovered by Berlin publishing mogul Heinrich Rode, the 17-year-old freaks and their super-cool horde get caught up in a maelstrom of love, intoxication and border-crossing. In the process, they redeem the twilight no-future generation X and the buttoned-up boomers in passing. But where does a journey without a destination lead? It is obvious that the two musicians, alias "eavesdroppers", will celebrate an unforgettable musical reading from this work.
21.10 - Break
9.30 pm - Michael Schweßinger and Marcel Schreiter present "This Is Not Paradise"
Zeitz - no place to live, no place to stay. This or something similar may have been Michael Schweßinger's impressions when the great hype of the artists' influx faded away into a gray, desolate, hopeless landing. Schweßinger lived with his family in Zeitz for some time and organized the "Word & Sound" series of events with his author friends M. Kruppe, Marcel Schreiter and David Gray. It remains a mystery how he was able to put down on paper a deeply captivating trip through everyday life in Zeitz from the oppressively intense impressions of the city and with the photographic depth of Marcel Schreiter.
21:55 - Holger Much reads from "Moon Songs and Moth Dances"
"Mondlieder und Mottentänze" is the second volume of stories and poems by Holger Much, who made his lyrical debut with the now out-of-print "Das Licht im Dunkeln" in 2021. This book brings together very personal, quiet moments of introspection and stories of enchanted memories to create an often dark collection of fairy-tale texts and poetry between waking and dreaming, sometimes characterized by black humor. It takes the reader into enchanted forests, dubious alleyways, (un)secret doodling chambers, the mist-shrouded hills of Ireland and into many a moonlit echo chamber of the soul...
22.20 - Pia Lüddecke reads from "Transmission"
Cultural summer 2010: Roman kills time with hard-hitting music and killer games. He meets Julia at the university: she's quick-witted and loves Swedish prog metal - seemingly the perfect woman. There's just one catch: Julia was originally called Julian, she was born a biological boy and is seeking gender reassignment treatment. Enigmatic therapeutic advice leads the mismatched couple on an odyssey through the nocturnal Ruhr region. Trans*Mission is a tragicomic love story and a fast-paced road trip that culminates in a fencing tournament on the highway.
