The young authors provide insights into their ideas and book creation processes. Buchkinder Leipzig e.V. has set itself the task of accompanying children and young people on the path to their own expression, their own story, their own book. Idea forge, book manufactory and bookshop under one roof - all the processes of bookmaking can be experienced in one place: from the first linocut, the first letter on paper to the realization of the book, which is produced by hand in small editions in the association's own book manufactory and offered for sale. Publishing children's ideas is unique in this form and consistency. The children and young people also read their stories at public events such as the Leipzig Book Fair: Texts and pictures, as individual as their creators. (Caution - by children, but only partly suitable for children's ears)

Book children grow with their books: they take responsibility and develop creativity and communication skills as well as confidence in their own perception and expressiveness. Our offer includes afternoon courses in two workshops (one of them in the Poege Haus) as well as cooperation with educational institutions such as schools, after-school care centers and kindergartens. Since 2001, Buchkinder Leipzig e. V. has accompanied more than 2000 children, regardless of their socio-economic and cultural background, on their way to creating their own stories. Today, more than ever, we are delighted to receive independent support for the continuation of our educational work.
