It may not sound particularly contemporary to some, but now is the time to remember the mighty power of rock'n'roll. Of the beauty and magic that lies in the romantic concept of a group of friends who together turn the world upside down. Who are a gang. For whom there is nothing more important than making this kind of music right here and now and with these people.

Leftovers from Vienna are one such band. The Austrian band makes music for the future with the means of the past and an unmistakable feel for the impositions of the present. On their first album "Krach", Leftovers celebrate the most exciting underground guitar rock music of the moment, somewhere between teenage angst, chronic excessive demands, hysteria and hedonism. "Krach" is an over-snapping hybrid that screams for the stage, life and love. Leonid, Leon, Anna, Alex: four friends in their early 20s who already visually kill and reference their idols at the same time by transposing an iconoclastic glam-metal-punk aesthetic full of quotes into the here and now. Leftovers play a rousing overpowering angry cybergrunge with digital hardcore, industrial, punk and Hamburg School elements - but at the same time none of that. Because Leftovers have already found a captivatingly individual style beyond any reference hell with their first album, to which Leonid sings of alienation, isolation and lovesickness with casual nonchalance and over-snapping hyperventilation.

In contrast to bands like Bilderbuch or Wanda, Leftovers don't particularly draw on Viennese local color. Apart from a few exceptions, this music could come from almost anywhere. The most important thing is that it comes from these four people. That they exist at all. Right here and right now, this moment is all that matters. The band will be touring Germany again in 2024.
