Life songs between life lies, passion and happiness in love.
Lebenslieder is a soundtrack to the stocktaking of an extraordinary singer in the field of tension between German and Yiddish, chanson and Schlager. Yiddish hits and German chansons by Jewish composers of the 1920s and 30s.
Songs of life by Friedrich Holländer, Georg Kreisler, Werner Richard Heymann and many others have lost nothing of their topicality today, only gained. As different as these songs are, in Vivian Kanner's interpretation they tell of the encounter with oneself with her own dark, warm timbre.
We are delighted that Vivian Kanner will be performing in the summer garden of the Liebermann Villa accompanied by Maxim Shagaev.
