Vif! - alive - is the name of Françoiz Breut's new album. She couldn't have chosen a more fitting title. Because with "Vif!" she has finally succeeded in what she has always strived for: namely to unhinge the chanson, free it from the strict form of the genre and bring it back to life. The liberties she has taken are palpable throughout the album. She deliberately goes beyond the line endings of the verses, plays with unusual accents and quite naturally breaks the organization of verse, bridge and chorus.

"Vif!" continues what Françoiz Breut started with its predecessor "Flux Flou de la Foule". Once again, life in urban and suburban landscapes is the central theme of her lyrics. The sound, which meanders between organic beats and analog synth tones, also fits in with this. A sound corset that carries and leaves enough room for the singer's fantastic voice. Because despite all the freedom, her vocals naturally remain the central element of her music.
