Hilarious stories of absurd everyday family life - Mareike Barmeyer in the taz Talk at the Leipzig Book Fair.

Whether in front of crowded ice cream parlors, in the supermarket or on the way to daycare, life with children is like a surprise bag full of surprises: sometimes astonishing, often exasperating. Between snotty noses and wet wipes that are no longer quite clean, the author traces the dynamics of family life and leaves it up to the reader's sense of humor to decide whether parents and children are a good match at all.

🐾 Mareike Barmeyer spent the 1990s in the UK, where she studied sociology. As co-founder of the reading stage "Rakete 2000", she regularly performs with it in Berlin. She also works freelance for the taz newspaper and as a lecturer in qualitative research methods at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. Her book will be published on 17.03.2025 by Satyr Verlag.

🐾 Jan Feddersen moderates this taz Talk. He is a taz editor, curator of the taz lab and author of various books, for example on identity politics and the language of the church.
