In a barren backyard, a blind chicken stumbles over a lame duck. The chicken is on its way to the place where its most secret wish is to come true. In the absence of a guide dog, the chicken asks the duck to accompany it. Although the duck is very afraid of the outside world, he decides to lead the blind chicken. After all, it shouldn't end up in the nearest ditch! So the two quirky birds set off together, bickering like an old married couple. The chicken supports the lame duck, and the duck tells the blind chicken all there is to see. Will they ever reach the secret place? And what would they wish for there anyway?
The well-known and award-winning author Ulrich Hub has taken the two pejorative terms "lame duck" and "blind chicken" literally and transformed them into two wonderful characters. "Lahme Ente, blindes Huhn" is a play full of wordplay and philosophical reflection. A story about great wishes, the power of friendship and the magic of illusion.
