KurzFilmTag: Gemeinsam geht's besser

We look forward to being part of KURZFILMTAG again in 2024 and spending the longest night together watching short films. This year's motto is: "Forming bonds". And so we are showing two series of touching and humorous short films that are all about cohesion and community.

In the series ""Gemeinsam gehts besser"(https://kurzfilmtag.com/progr.../gemeinsam-gehts-besser.html), senior citizens from Volkssolidarität Dresden have curated a selection of short films that focus on topics such as cohesion, creativity and the challenges of life. Whether struggling with a bicycle that is difficult to transport or shopping that becomes a special ritual - the characters face their hurdles with ingenuity and charm. Other stories are dedicated to themes such as loneliness, family ties or dealing with change and loss. The films highlight the power of community and show how good it is to be there for each other.

The "Love, Family and Music" series(https://kurzfilmtag.com/prog.../liebe-familie-und-musik.html) comprises eight carefully selected short films compiled by the "Easy Language" working group of Stadt AG - Aktives Netzwerk für ein inklusives Leben in Dresden e.V. (Active Network for Inclusive Living in Dresden). From childhood dreams and family relationships to encounters with prejudice and personal insecurities, the films explore the diversity of human (and animal) experiences in a touching and sometimes humorous way. Each film takes a unique look at themes such as friendship, self-discovery and the search for belonging. Often without dialog or with minimal text, the stories unfold their impact through powerful images.

In keeping with the theme, we not only offer films on this evening, but also warm soup and punch as well as one or two small activities that invite you to discover what we have in common. During film discussions, a shared meal and creative activities, we look forward to finding out what connects us and what community means for each individual.
