Kunsthaus Salon: Philipp Sauer Quartett

In the organizer's words:

The quartet presents new compositions in the style of swinging modern jazz. They are inspired by encounters with musical companions and life in the Ruhr region with all its facets.

Philipp Sauer, born on July 27, 1984 in Wuppertal, began playing the saxophone at the age of 11 and studied at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen from 2005 to 2010. During his career, he has played with well-known artists such as Tom Gäbel, Carla Bley, Glen David Andrews and Bob Mintzer. Philipp was a member of the JugendJazzOrchester Nordrhein-Westfalen (LJJO NRW) and toured internationally, including the USA and various countries in Europe and Asia. His work also includes appearances on television, radio and film music, such as Christoph Tillmanns' "Blue Sky".
