Koza Mostra, one of the most internationally popular and nationally influential Greek bands of the last decade, is announcing the release of a new studio album in October 2024. Over the past twelve years, their seamless amalgamation of traditional and folk music with hard rock, heavy metal, ska, and even disco has inspired a new generation of upcoming artists to defy the boundaries of genres and venture into the exploration of their own cultural heritage. They were formed in 2012 and immediately drew attention and general acclamation with their very first international appearance - at Eurovision 2013 in Sweden, with the song 'Alcohol is Free'. Currently, the song has more than 12 million views on YouTube, cumulatively through several video versions of it. In March 2013, after less than a year of existence, Koza Mostra released their first album - 'Keep Up The Rhythm', and until today they have sold more than 150.000 physical copies of it, as well as 300.000 digital copies. In late 2017, they released their second album 'Corrida', an exquisite fusion of many music genres, including ska, Balkan tradition, pop, hard rock and punk, blended with Rebetiko (a traditional Greek music genre from the interwar period), marking themselves as a "one of a kind" band. Since then, they have continued with periodical releases of new singles: 'Requiem', in collaboration with Pedro Erazo from Gogol Bordello, 'Bilio', 'Itia (live)', and the most recent one - 'Elvis', exploring their music and cultural origins by combining heavy metal sound with the most famous Greek traditional string instrument, the bouzouki. The new album, named Malaka (μαλάκας, in Greek, is commonly used as an insult, translating to something like "jerk" or "idiot", literally referring to someone who is foolish orannoying but it is also often used in a more casual, joking context among friends), is coming up in late October 2024. Meanwhile, the band is polishing it in the studio and rehearsing for the album release tour in late 2024. KOZA MOSTRA "MALAKA" ALBUM PREVIEW TOUR *support dj Vasilis Migkoulis
