Berlin saxophonist Peter Van Huffel and bassist Roland Fidezius from the band Gorilla Mask (Clean Feed Records) present a special evening of improvised music at the Rabbit Hole Theater, where they will be joined by drummer Simon Camatta from Essen. This concert promises experimental, reflective and energetic spontaneous music performed by three experienced musicians and improvisers.

Peter Van Huffel is a Belgian-Canadian saxophonist and composer who has lived in Berlin since 2008. His main project, the thrash-jazz trio GORILLA MASK, has toured extensively throughout Europe and Canada since its formation in 2009 and has released a total of five albums, four of them with the renowned Portuguese label Clean Feed Records. Most recently, Van Huffel founded the bassless quartet "Callisto", in which he himself plays the baritone saxophone and processes live horn effects. Callisto's debut album was released by Clean Feed in March 2024. To date, Peter has released a total of seventeen albums as bandleader and co-leader, he has led many projects and played with many well-known musicians from all over the world.

Born in Wuppertal, bassist Roland Fidezius studied double bass and electric bass at the Berlin University of the Arts and continued his education at workshops. He has toured the USA, Canada and Europe with various projects (including the band "Gorilla Mask") and played at international jazz festivals. He received a Grammy nomination in 2020 with the album "LP5"(mute-records) by Apparat. Since 2022 he has been working as a theater musician at the Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt. In contemporary music, he attracted attention in 2023 through his participation as bassist in the intermedia project "The Å/ A Universe" by Claudia Van Hasselt with the participation of composers Tomi Räisänen and Amen Feizabadi. In September 2023 his solo CD "Grinding Teeth" was released on the "Vision Of Sound-Label".

Simon Camatta was born in Essen in 1976. He received his first drum kit for Christmas at the age of 11. He studied jazz at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen. He has been playing for 25 years in a wide variety of bands all over the world. Currently with The Dorf, Handsome Couple feat. DJ Illvibe and in various improvisation projects, as well as at various theaters and with various dance companies. He is also a solo performer, festival organizer and label owner.
