The guided tour at 11 a.m. through the special exhibition "Germany around 1980 - Photographs from a Distant Land" at the Altonaer Museum gives visitors an overview of the highlights of the exhibition. It shows ten different and concise perspectives on the 1980s in Germany. The photographers take a highly individual look at the developments in Germany at the time: as freelance actors, as reportage photographers commissioned by newspapers and magazines or as photo artists. The exhibition highlights political and social issues, music, fashion, design and much of what moved people around 1980. The focus is on topics and crises that had a particular impact on Helmut Schmidt's chancellorship.
Meeting point: Altonaer Museum, Museumstraße 23, Hamburg

This will be followed at 2.30 p.m. by a guided tour of the exhibition "Schmidt! Living Democracy" exhibition in Hamburg city center. Schmidt's political positions and his actions as Chancellor will be placed in the wider social context of the time.

The guided tours can also be attended individually.
