On February 13, 2025, Cologne City Council will decide on the budget for the next two years. The draft, which has been available since November 14, 2024, provides for massive cuts in the social and cultural sector. Youth work facilities, projects for the integration of refugees and violence prevention programs are just as affected by the planned cuts as the independent theater, dance and music scene. Cuts are to be made primarily in areas where working conditions are already precarious. The drastic cuts threaten the diversity and social cohesion of our city and its creative identity. This makes it all the more important to stand together in solidarity against the planned cuts - for a diverse and creative Cologne!
