Friday, 14.02.2025 - from 4 pm - Heumarkt - Cologne
"We have a right to the future!" is the motto of the climate strike for the early federal elections. Fridays for Future Cologne is taking part in the nationwide climate strike one week before the federal elections.
"We can all see how bad the climate crisis is already escalating. Despite this, the parties are blithely planning more highways and gas imports. It is unacceptable that the climate is barely mentioned in this election campaign! Some of us young people can't even vote yet. But one thing is clear: we have a right to a future - and we will fight for it," explains Marie Hacker, 15 years old, from Fridays for Future Cologne.
"Decisive action is needed now to combat the climate crisis and implement climate protection in a socially just way. This includes a clear plan for the end of dirty gas, a heat guarantee that ensures that climate-friendly heating is affordable for everyone and a historic training offensive for good climate jobs," adds Ulf Brähler, 19, from Fridays for Future Cologne.
In Cologne, pupils, students and everyone who cares about climate protection will take to the streets on Friday, February 14 to demand their #RightToFuture. The climate strike starts at 4 p.m. at Heumarkt and then runs via Neumarkt, Rudolfplatz, Friesenplatz and past the cathedral to the final rally at Heumarkt. There will be a political and musical program.
