In the organizer's words:

"With the exhibition "It's the economy, stupid!", the class wants to draw attention to the precarious working conditions of artists. Often, everyone involved in the realization of an exhibition is paid for their work, but not those who provide artistic services, who in turn are dependent on the monetization of their works. However, the actual remuneration required to escape precarity cannot be reflected in sales prices. As a result, the average annual income of artists is currently only just above the poverty line and half of artists can expect to live in poverty in old age.

It is important to us to point out that negotiating appropriate fees should be an important goal in order to strengthen the position of artists in society. We are committed to these goals. The value of artistic work should be taken into account just as much as the provision of artistic services, preparation, project management and the realization of exhibition participations."
