Nicole Rudi, celebrated pianist and visual artist, invites you to an extraordinary piano recital in which music and painting meet in a special way.

Nicole Rudi's program includes Liszt's "Sonetti del Petrarca" and "Vallée d'Obermann", Chopin's Nocturnes and Waltzes as well as Grünfeld's "Soirée de Vienne". As a synaesthete, the pianist not only brings colorful sound, but also color to the canvas and presents selected pieces from the program in painted form. These paintings capture the atmosphere and character of the music and allow the sounds to be experienced in a new, sensual way.

The combination of sound and color opens up a new approach to classical music for the audience. The paintings encourage the audience to delve deeper into the moods and emotions of the works and to perceive the music from a broader perspective. An evening that inspires and shows classical music in a fascinating light.

Nicole Rudi, piano and painting

The pianist Nicole Rudi is not only long established in the classical music scene and at home on the big stages, but has also made a name for herself in the contemporary art scene by creating a unique combination of music and painting.

Born in 1995, she began playing the piano at the age of 5, followed by studies in Hanover, Vienna and Düsseldorf. Nicole Rudi has been awarded numerous prizes at international piano competitions throughout Europe and has received scholarships from the Karg Foundation, the Dr. Giesing Foundation, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture, the Clavarte Foundation and the Richard Wagner Association, among others. This was followed by concert invitations to Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Lithuania, Ukraine, Italy, China and other countries. She also currently teaches at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and the Cologne University of Music and Dance.

In all her years as a pianist, Nicole Rudi has recognized her gift of synesthesia, through which she perceives colors in music. While tones and sounds resound, color compositions appear before her inner eye in all their textures and facets, which she brings to the canvas. This special form of perception makes not only her virtuoso piano playing, but above all her art, a unique experience.
