This piece is all about questions of temperature. And transformation. It's about climate and climacteric. About motherhood, anger and desire. Israeli choreographer Keren Levi stages a cycle of conversations between two women who start sweating and talking on the treadmill. About getting older, the menopause, global warming. Gradually, the setting changes. And the mode of movement. Walking becomes dancing. Talking becomes singing. And the images of a park landscape behind the treadmills are transformed into a completely new world. With HOT WALK, Keren Levi finally returns to the Pumpenhaus! She has shown a large number of celebrated works here over the years: Her radical confrontations with the composer Morton Feldman (such as DEPARTING LANDSCAPES). Or with the terror of beauty ideals (THE DRY PIECE). In her latest performance, she once again translates personal experience into the language of dance.
