Kelterfest

In the organizer's words:

The wine press, which is available to all 60 members of the cooperative, is to a certain extent the center of wine life in Tübingen. In front of the historic wine press, the winegrowers' cooperative therefore traditionally invites people to a social gathering on Kelternplatz. A wide range of fine wines from the slopes around the city will support the good atmosphere. Food and drink are also well catered for.

In addition to traditional varieties such as Kerner, Müller-Thurgau and Schwarzriesling, wines are also produced around Tübingen from younger vines whose high resistance to fungi makes the use of pesticides almost superfluous. These include Cabernet Blanc, Johanniter, Souvignier Gris, Muscaris, Regent, Cabernet Cantor and Cabernet Jura. However, the location of most vineyards in nature or landscape conservation areas is also accompanied by a more conscious use of pesticides. The viticulture around Tübingen is impressive!

To accompany the wines, visitors can enjoy pizza, pulled pork burgers and vegetarian or meaty tarte flambée (all from the wood-fired oven), chilli and curry sausage in bread dough and bread on a stick.
