Kassettendeck w/ fiora

In the organizer's words:
ARTIST-INFO:
fiora is a singer and songwriter from Göttingen. With her music, the newcomer creates her own place between indie and bedroom pop - gentle, close and warm in her productions, honest and nostalgic in her stories, clear and unadorned in her language.
Born in 1999, fiora grew up listening to German rap and pop in the back seat of her parents' car and Singstar sessions in the living room. At the age of six, she took to the theater stage for the first time. "Expressing myself in this way was so fulfilling. From that moment on, I was in love with acting," fiora remembers. She continued acting, sang in musicals, learned to play the piano from her choir director and shortly afterwards asked for a guitar for Christmas.
At the age of 20, fiora moves to Göttingen to study. A time characterized by self-doubt - although she senses that she wants to be an artist, she pushes the idea aside. "I didn't know what this path could look like for me. I think I was afraid of not being good enough." She repressed the feeling for a while - until her flatmate took her to a small live club for an open mic. "When I played there, I realized what I actually wanted to do," says fiora. From then on, she started writing songs.
First she wrote in English, then in German. "It felt more honest and more profound. In German, I had the feeling that I could make something of my own." She performs more and more frequently in Göttingen and shares her music on Instagram and Soundcloud. A video in which she sings a few lines about a flea market in a shared flat goes viral and enables fiora to connect with more people in the German music scene. She begins to work on her songs in her first studio sessions in Berlin, until she finally drops out of her studies and moves to the new city.
"It wasn't easy for me to leave Göttingen. It's the place where I took my first steps and I'll always love being there," says fiora. "Nevertheless, it was clear to me that I had to go this way. I'm so grateful that I even get the opportunity to do what really fulfills me."
After "viertel nach vier", fiora's second single "fahrrad" will be released on May 17, 2024. A touching song about grief and the pain that arises when you have to let go of something. Without remorse or anger, but in honest acceptance of the end, which also contains a new beginning. Like the first single, "fahrrad" was written and produced by fiora herself, with the support of pianist and composer Alexander John (OK KID, Drangsal, Xavi etc.). The result is a warm song - reduced in sound, yet close and dreamy in tone thanks to a gentle piano and careful backing vocals.
"How the song came about was unique for me. I received a message that made me very sad. I was sitting at my keyboard at that exact moment. I played a few chords and just wrote everything down. It felt like a weight was lifted off me."
