World premiere of the latest play by the successful authors Dietmar Jacobs and Moritz Netenjakob
Death is never nice. But it could be worse than falling asleep peacefully at the age of 94: for example, a funeral service that gets completely out of hand.
Gernot Steinfels, patriarch of an old German middle class company, has passed away and his designated successor (60) is organizing the funeral for the company. But the text on the ribbon causes a great deal of irritation: "In deep mourning. Your employees".
The "old white man" at the top quickly has not only his marketing manager, social media manager and secretary against him, but also the very self-confident intern. In front of the theater audience as an assembled congregation of mourners, the company's management ultimately tears itself apart more and more in this highly pointed play. And not even the desperate priest can calm the waters.
Dietmar Jacobs and Moritz Netenjakob's (EXTRAWURST, among others) comedy is full of twists and turns. With a keen eye and a passionate dedication, it depicts the abysses, pitfalls and rhetorical tricks of the current debate about social norms and their human and all-too-human causes, but also awakens a longing for attentive and respectful interaction with one another.
