Two years ago, Danish-Honduran singer and electronic artist Julie Pavon released the EP "Watch Her Dance", which combined catchy, sample-based beats with a modern, simultaneously sparse and dark sound. Now Pavon pushes the dark further with her first full-length album, unveiling an epic electro-tragic work. Gone are the carefree DIY deep house grooves - "Born With Heartbreak" is intense, restless and existential. Julie Pavon's emotionally charged vocals race through a variety of style references, from trance and rave to electroclash, industrial and indie metal.
Pavon herself describes the album as "a raw, immediate and uncompromising force." She says of the artistic vision behind "Born With Heartbreak": "I want to capture moments of pure, unfiltered emotion. Contrasts and duality attract me in my work - just as they define my life. Ecstasy and fear. The free scream. Being myself, without compromise - and finding my strength in that."
