Album 'You Matter' - Release Tour
The musical language of experimental jazz harpist, singer, composer, producer and bandleader Julie Campiche is the result of constant curiosity and innovation in music and her great interest in the state of the world. Jazz, classical music, electronic music and not least avant-garde traits permeate her music - and reveal an immediate fragility that sometimes delicately, sometimes powerfully scratches at the limit without ever exceeding it. In this way, Campiche, who must be called a pioneer of harp jazz, has created her very own music that is second to none.
The Swiss musician founded the Julie Campiche Quartet in 2016 and brought together some of the most promising Swiss musical talents of her generation in an outstanding ensemble. The quartet combines the electronic effects of its protagonists' instruments with acoustic space, organic sound, field recordings and complex forms, creating its own musical signature by experimenting with progressive jazz.
In fall 2022, the Julie Campiche Quartet is back with its second album 'You Matter'/ENJA Music. Emotional avant-garde jazz enveloped by the magical, unexpected and moving sound of the harp, which is at the center of the music. In these dark and disturbing times, the album sends a stirring and hopeful message to the world around issues such as climate change, the refugee movement, patriarchy and human identity.
