In 2024, the Konzerthaus Dortmund will also be getting into the musical mood for Easter and, with Jordi Savall and the ensembles he founded, promises a top-class evening with Bach's St. John Passion, about which the gambist says: "The most beautiful moment is the death of Jesus, when the countertenor sings accompanied by the viola da gamba: 'It is finished'. It's like dying yourself. And the viola da gamba achieves this. It is only played at this moment, throughout the Passion."
