The successful children's book by Michael Ende has now found its way onto the stage of the Harburg Theater as well as into numerous children's rooms. The story takes us to the small island of Lummerland, which is inhabited by only four inhabitants: King Alfons the Quarter to Twelfth, the train driver Lukas with his steam engine Emma, the shopkeeper Mrs. Waas and the subject Mr. Ärmel. One day, the letter carrier brings a parcel containing a baby. The foundling is given the name Jim by Lukas and is brought up by Mrs. Waas. Years pass and the king decides that the locomotive Emma must leave Lummerland, as it has become too crowded on the island. However, as neither Luke wants to leave Emma nor Jim wants to leave Luke, the two friends set off into the wide world with Emma, who has been converted into a ship. A great adventure begins...
