An inheritance lottery comedy - By Nora Abdel-Maksoud

"We have it in our own hands to regulate our inheritance in good time", says the foreword to the information brochure 'Erben und Vererben' (Inheritance and Bequest) from the Federal Ministry of Justice. And in Germany, up to 400 billion euros in inheritances have to be settled every year. So far, so good - so unfair? It probably depends on your perspective - and these perspectives collide in the fast-paced comedy Jeeps mit Karacho. Nora Abdel-Maksoud tells the story of a radical reform of inheritance law: inheritances are redistributed by drawing lots. The office responsible for this is the job center: This is where Armin and Gabor sit and, in addition to applications for unemployment benefit, they now also process applications for those without inheritance. Silke's application was rejected, which is all the more annoying for her as her father was extremely wealthy - she would probably be entitled to at least one lot! But the hotline is busy. She storms into the office and meets Maude in the waiting room. She was caught collecting returnable bottles by case worker Gabor and he deducted the deposit money from her basic benefits. With a gun in their hands, the two dissimilar women become partners and want to assert their rights.

In this turbulent "Ovary Lottery Reloaded", society's call for fairness and equal opportunities is taken ad absurdum. Because what if our demands actually cost us something?
