JAZZ/PEOPLE (Filmpremiere)

In the organizer's words:

Who is actually still making jazz music today? In his search for answers, the young Leipzig director Sebastian Lautenbach came across the double bass player Robert Lucaciu, the singer Kezia Christy and the guitarist Werner Neumann.

They not only represent three different generations, but also the musical diversity of contemporary jazz.

In his film "JAZZ / PEOPLE", Lautenbach accompanies the three musicians in their everyday lives. Far removed from projective glorification, he shows the challenges and adversities associated with it today - but also the hopes, dreams and visions that drive and motivate them.

The result is a portrait that is as sensitive as it is approachable and which, by shedding light on individual protagonists, is also able to reveal a great deal about the dynamics and lines of development of the jazz scene in general.

The film is now celebrating its premiere as part of "Jazzclub Live".

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director and protagonists of the film.
