Jazz-Nacht 2025 im Stadttheater Bremerhaven

"A Tribute to Benny Goodman" with Engelbert Wrobel's Swing Society and guests

Jörg Seidel and the Stadttheater invite you to an evening of music on all floors of the Great House.

Under the title "A Tribute to Benny Goodman", the Bremerhaven jazz musician and artistic director Lars Tietje invite you to the third Jazz Night at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven.

The exceptional jazz pianist Moritz Schöwing from Bremen will be playing with his trio in the foyer from 6.30 p.m. onwards and during the interval of the concert. Two sets with Engelbert Wrobel's Swing Society under the motto "A Tribute to Benny Goodman" await us as the "top act" in the main hall. After the concert, musicians from both formations will come together with Jörg Seidel for a jam session in the upper foyer of the theater.

Engelbert Wrobel's Swing Society performed regularly with the legendary Swiss musician and entertainer Hazy Osterwald, and together they were guests at numerous festivals and in many clubs and concert halls. The Swing Society has released a total of eight CDs, including two with Hazy Osterwald, two with the American trombonist and trumpeter Dan Barrett, and one with the German jazz singer Silvia Droste.

The young pianist Moritz Schöwing has been on the Bremen jazz scene for several years. He started piano lessons with his father Jens Schöwing at an early age and quickly discovered a passion for jazz and popular music. He won prizes in competitions such as Jugend jazzt and Jugend musiziert and studied jazz piano at the Bremen University of the Arts. He has played with musicians such as Ed Kröger, Malte Schiller or with the Jazzkombinat Hamburg and the Nordwest Bigband.
